Preston Mitchell, a senior at Houston County High School, is a well-rounded, high-performing student whose record of service, academic achievement, and athletic excellence sets him apart. Through his dedication to community work, strong classroom performance, and standout success on the football field, Preston exemplifies leadership and determination.
Over the past two summers, Preston has devoted significant time to serving others through the Christian Appalachian Project, helping repair homes for families in need across Kentucky and West Virginia. This hands-on service work reflects his strong character and willingness to invest his time and energy into improving the lives of others. Closer to home, he also supports his father’s carpentry business whenever possible, gaining practical skills and real-world experience while strengthening his work ethic.
Academically, Preston maintains a 3.6 GPA, balancing his studies with athletics and service commitments. He approaches his responsibilities with discipline and consistency, demonstrating that achievement in multiple areas is possible through focus and effort.
On the field, Preston has been a star performer for the Houston County Fighting Irish Football Team. In just 10 regular-season games, he gained over 1,500 yards from scrimmage — the fifth-highest total in the state — a remarkable accomplishment that highlights his athletic ability, preparation, and competitive drive.
Looking ahead, Preston plans to pursue a degree in business and is currently being recruited by Suwanee, Maryville, and Bethel to continue his football and academic career at the next level. With his blend of leadership, service, academic strength, and athletic performance, Preston Mitchell is poised for continued success and impact in everything he pursues.
